It is always good to learn more about the circumstances in which films were made.antarrahttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17426370822672116904noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090676701125864139.post-69590634452568272992010-02-07T11:53:49.901-08:002010-02-07T11:53:49.901-08:00Dil Diya Dard Liya has been inspired by Wurthering...Dil Diya Dard Liya has been inspired by Wurthering Heights as some other movies of Dilip Kumar too are inspired. The movie was ghost-directed by Dilip Kumar who has extracted one of the most villainous performance from Pran. DDDL was also the time of the flowering of Dilip-Waheeda romance and later on with more films by this pair it was understood that both of them would get married. But this was not to be thanks to Naseem Banu. Since the movie did not do too well, it was thought that Dilip Kumar was "finished". But he was to make his critics eat a humble pie with his towering Ram Aur Shyam the next year (1967).Nasirhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/11750576678489063933noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-2090676701125864139.post-54284036112819324662010-01-12T12:03:32.832-08:002010-01-12T12:03:32.832-08:00Shyama was also in there? For the rest, the only bright spot in the entire film (for me) was Rehman - I just couldnt understand how Waheeda could NOT fall for him. And I just re-read Memsaab's post on this film - I would totally love her version of the ending (Waheeda killing herself by falling out of the window and landing on Dilip, finishim him off as well). Or there could be a nice staircase-death scene - like in Hulchul - to provide some comic relief!Bollyviewerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/17270927806254662068noreply@blogger.com
